Director
Envisioning a niche and advisory group with an emphasis on excellence, efficiency and attention to detail, Malan founded Assiduity Group in 2013.
A Chartered Accountant, with more than 20 years post articles experience, he was an entrepreneurial founding partner of an audit practice with global clients, across the economic spectrum and before establishing Assiduity, he acted as COO of a large multinational private equity fund.
Malan offers specialized advisory services including entrepreneurial and private equity consultancy and compliance. Building strong relationships with great emphasis on individual client needs, combined with an astute awareness of the latest business practices and vast experience gained, is what sets Malan’s services apart.
Director
A qualified and admitted attorney of law holding both B. Comm (Law) and LLB degrees, Philip has more than 20 years of corporate legal-, commercial- and executive management experience.
Philip began his career as corporate legal advisor at the Shoprite Checkers Group, where he was later instrumental in the Group’s new business expansion both in the local and West-African markets.
With his wealth of knowledge, senior operational management skills and keen interest in property investment and development, Philip joined the Uvest Property Group in 2008 taking on the role of Commercial Director.
Philip has been a member of the Assiduity team since 2018, where his ability to navigate the complexities of the corporate legal environment combined with his core competencies and extensive experience is highly valued.
Portfolio Manager
Ian graduated from the University of Stellenbosch and completed his Professional Accountant articles at LDP Inc. in 2013, where his professional skills and advanced knowledge of accounting and taxation was shaped.
An excellent educational foundation combined with Ian’s experience and eagerness to learn, made him a great addition to the Assiduity Group when he joined the team in May of 2014.
Known to be a dedicated and hard worker, Ian is a registered Tax Practitioner and thorough in everything he takes on, to ensure the best outcome for his clients.
Executive Administrator
Joining the Assiduity team in August of 2016, after obtaining her Master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Stellenbosch, Mariska is the trusted go-to for all the administrative needs of the office.
While working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a smoothly run office, she strives to anticipate the needs of her colleagues and clients, alike, in order to achieve the best results for all.
Mariska is a conscientious and dedicated administrator, who enjoys juggling the many caps of her position.
Marketing & Administration
Inge graduated at the University of Stellenbosch with a Consumer Science degree.
The experience she gained in marketing and distribution, as well as product development and design, combined with the vested interest she has had in the development and design since the inception of Assiduity, has made her a natural addition to the team.
Inge looks after the corporate image of Assiduity and all facets of digital marketing and design pertaining to it. She is also involved in special projects pertaining to social development.
Independent Management Consultant
After graduating from the University of Stellenbosch in 1990 with a B.Comm degree in Actuarial Science, Johannes lived in France for 10 years, first as a professional Rugby player, then acted as sales manager for Grolsch Brewery and later started his own company.
Johannes’ entrepreneurial side has exposed him to various industries, including trading, mining, agriculture, and property development.

Batla Minerals, a listed company in France, and Desert Fruit in Namibia, an agricultural company with one of the largest established date plantations in the Southern Hemisphere.
