After graduating from the University of Stellenbosch in 1990 with a B.Comm degree in Actuarial Science, Johannes lived in France for 10 years, first as a professional Rugby player, then acted as sales manager for Grolsch Brewery and later started his own company.
Johannes’ entrepreneurial side has exposed him to various industries, including trading, mining, agriculture, and property development.

Batla Minerals, a listed company in France, and Desert Fruit in Namibia, an agricultural company with one of the largest established date plantations in the Southern Hemisphere.
